Kids with Their Own Devices Lag Behind

Almost half of the participants owned a personal tablet or smartphone by age four or five, most commonly a tablet. In the first round of testing, these children scored roughly five points lower on both vocabulary and grammar compared with peers who did not have a device of their own.
